what would be the best toy for small dogs?

i have a chihuahua.. she plays with tennis ball a lot.. but i'm afraid of the threads that will be rip off from the ball itself.. can you give an alternative.. i had her chewable bone toys but she's not playing with it....

Herbie is not a great 'toy player' he has a soft latex ball which he will play with occassional but he used to love tugging an old sock!!!! think he is just a lazy terrier.....

There are small rubber balls at pet shops or pet supplies. You can try that to your dog. I have a rubber ball like that and it squeaks everytime the ball bounce.
