My dogs love cat food, they'll steal it before they'll eat their own food. However, since they would have to eat so much more of the cat food to be full it's WAY too expensive to feed to them. But I don't know if it is necessarily bad for them.

OK, I posted your question on another forum, that is populated with vet techs and such, and they all say that cat food isn't good for dogs, as the nutritional needs of each is so different. Also one of the replies said that the cat food gave her dog really bad breath!

A little cat food won't hurt a dog, but I wouldn't recommend it for daily meals.

I agree, cat food is much more expensive than dog food, so I don't know why someone would do that but ok ;)

However you should NEVER give a cat dog food as it has no taurine and without it, kitties can get very sick :(

wow interesting, never heard of giving a dog cat food, and it is more expensive so it doesn't seem to make that much sense. If he was my uncle, I'd also probably look at him as if he's crazy :P

I know that it does give a dog the belly ache. My rattie love cat food to but after eating it he has the worst farts. So just that I would recommend giving a dog cat food.
