I've done two lots of liver strips, they take about 2 hours all together on the lowest oven setting, and flip them over half way through. Make sure you rinse the liver first and pat it dry before cooking. The second lot I did, I forgot to "rinse and pat" and they welded themselves to the baking sheet!! It took brute force to remove them! So....rinse and dry and they will slide of the tray. Herbie will love the smell of them cooking!

Which biscuits did you try, Liz? I made some peanut butter and honey bics, which they loved at first, but now they turn their noses up!

I've read so much about the smell of tripe, I'm not going anywhere near it!! Someone told me "Oh yes, they will put weight on when you feed raw!" Mine have a couple of lamb ribs in the morning and homecooked about 5p.m..they're always ready for tea so I'm a bit stumped really how to get the weight off Doug!

Sharon when you say home cooked what do you give them?

They get 2 dessert spoons cooked brown rice, 2 dessert spoons boiled chicken and 1 spoon veg. With that they get a small handful of Burns kibble. They've always had this meal, but since having raw, Jack won't eat the Burns, which is O.K. by me! I vary the cooked chicken with sardines, pilchards or other fish and they get a raw egg once a week.
In reality I've replaced the commercial treats that they used to have (3-4 Markies in the morning and Dentastix or jumbones in the evening) with raw and stopped the evening treats. I don't really want to go entirely raw 'cos I have'nt got enough freezer space., so this regime works for us.......except for the weight gain!! Doug is always ravenous by his evening meal so I feel mean cutting it to a smaller portion. Liz, what size portion of raw does Herbie have? and what do you feed him? I ask because Herbie, Doug & Jack are all about the same size!
