Cookie has a bad habit of just swallowing anything I poke at her face, and Cash's mouth is too small and soft, I don't give them bones very often at all. And only raw beef bones when I do.

I give the cocker/golden retreiver raw chicken necks. I give the cocker spaniel the chicken necks also but I cut them up for him--he does a better job of chewing than the other dog but prefers smaller pieces to crunch in his mouth. I have also given wings minus the tips---all raw of course!
No, never. I have always heard poultry bones are the worst you can give your dog. The bones split and can cause massive internal injuries. Those of you that feed your dogs poultry bones have been very lucky and I hope luck continues on your side.
It's COOKED bones, poultry or otherwise, that splinter and are harmful. Raw bones are fine......after all that's what dogs have eaten since they've been on this planet.
Pepsi swallows things whole, if i gave her a chicken wing she wouldn't chew it she would just swallow it and i am affraid that she would choke or it would get caught in her digestive system.
ive been feeding raw bones for over 18 yrs, never had a problem yet ive nearly lost a neo to a pet shop roast bone and my old dane to a raw hide chew, pigs ears are just as lethal
