Grooming brush?

Postby youngpup on Sun Sep 23, 2007 4:22 am

I have seen many different grooming brushes available, is it better to get a high quality expensive one or can I go with a cheaper one? there does not seem to be much difference in them

Yeah I got a pair of grooming brushes, two different types with wooden handles, they are actually very good quality IMO and only cost something like $15

I would definently go with a cheaper one if you can take care of your brush. The only reasons why there are more expensive brushes are that they are more durable and last longer. The cheaper ones, if you take great care of it, will last just as good as the expensive ones.

Lol, I have too many brushes.... cheap ones mostly, but my absolute FAVORITE is the Furminator, it is amazing and gets out so much hair!!!!!!!!!! My favorite for long haired dogs though is a grooming rake. They work great for getting out that undercoat!

I use a Zoom Groom.....it's a rubber "brush".....absolutely fantastic and cheap too! I could'nt believe how much hair it removes and the dogs fight to be "zoomed" first!! They sell worldwide.......

I love the Furminator. I can't believe how much of the undercoat it gets out. It is expensive, but worth it.

we bought a mars brush because our dog has wool and it works really well, we dont have a problem with shedding but she does matt really easily. but the combination of the mars and the slicker seem to keep her coat under control between clips. the beagle only get a soft baby brush at the moment becasue she still has puppy fur and soft pink skin.

Oh the Furminator works great on my Pom. It saves me a ton of house cleaning during the time she is molting. http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_pet.html

Furminator is great to use but it is quite expensive. You can opt for cheaper brush if you do not have problems with shedding.
