Anyone got any tips for cleaning dogs teeth? I have to get mine in a wrestling hold to do it!

The thing that I use are rope toys with dental floss in them. All of the doggies love them. I play tug with them and it flosses their teeth at the same time. :D

Pedigree have a product called Denta Sticks which is designed to clean their teeth and is 100% edible... my two love them... I give them one every morning when I leave the house.. .

They also make another one called denta bone.. but they dont seem to like them as much...

I am surprised your dogs aren't getting runny bums with the amount of crap in them

Lol, I'm so glad I don't have to brush my dogs teeth... the BARF diet and raw marrow bones take care of that for me. My 6 year old's teeth are pearly white and they've NEVER had a cleaning :)

Vet said never give bones to a dog, so I don't. She won't chew anything except paper. Bummer. And she will NOT let me clean her teeth. PERIOD. I guess I'll have to pay for cleaning. Bummer X a million.

I trained my dog to have their toothbrush twice a week. If you are having a hard time to train yours, some use Dentastix. That's one of my dogs' fave too.

here are a couple of tips that i have recently read, has anyone tried them? i'm considering using them instead of the denta sticks '

OraVet is a weekly paste that you apply to the dogs teeth with a supplied applicator (from your vet. Highly recommended!!) One box has about a months worth of applications. This is my preferred method of dental care.

Toothbrush, wetted and dipped in baking soda then applied by regular brushing. Unlike OraVet, this is applied daily.

Oravet is good but it is expensive, and it means i have to go to the vet all the time and i'm really not a fan of the vets and neither is my dog.
